Windows will allow you to browse through a ZIP folder, but the cross-file hyperlinking will not work by default.
In order for the cross-file hyperlinking to work in a ZIP package, you must first fully unzip the package. To do this:
- Navigate to the folder you downloaded your ZIP file into (typically your Downloads folder)
- Right-click on the ZIP folder you downloaded from Extracts Pro, and then select "Extract all".
- This transforms the folder from a ZIP into a regular Windows folder.
If you run into issues extracting the file, please reach out to Extracts Pro. Windows MAXPATH errors are a Windows limitation, caused by long file names, typically deeply nested within several folders. While Extracts Pro automatically renames files downloaded from Procore, sometimes the title given can still exceed Windows limitations.
When unzipping files, Extracts Pro recommends 7-ZIP: A secure, free, open-source unzipping software that is often more functional than the native Windows unzipping tool.
